"The Good Life - With Grandpa Mac" is the latest in a series of high school discussion starters, created by VIDANO Films (www.vidano.com).
When VIDANO Films was asked to come up with a series of discussion starter video vignettes, to accompany the book "Living The Good Life", Stephen Vidano (director/producer) drew upon the creative "feng shui" of David Stotts and Tom Small (animators).
The challenge was to find a creative and entertaining way to help young people start discussing what it really means to "live the good life."
Understanding the importance of market and product awareness, Vidano immediately set out to create a BRAND for "The Good Life" series. The task was to create a memorable and endearing icon that would be received and remembered over time.
And from that... Lights. Camera. Action! Grandpa Mac emerged. An older gentleman, meant to represent all of our grandfathers...accompanied by his quircks, humor, attitude, opinions and all. Someone we would listen to and joke about all at the same time (kind of like we do with our own grandparents...in a loving way).
With the help of Dave Stotts' design, VIDANO Films emerged with the logo and quircky animation style seen in these productions.
Narrated by Grandpa Mac's granddaughter, the topics are values-based. The style is definitely quircky. The humor...random. But the message is spot on clear.
